How Many Calories Should I Eat?

Do you feel like you are eating too much? Maybe you feel you are not eating enough.
This is pretty common to feel this way and to be confused with how much you need to eat every day.
The answer to this question should be simple. It should also be something that you can answer on your own.
Just like everything we do here at Best Life Fitness, we are going to keep this simple.
We keep it simple because it helps you know exactly what you need.
What I am about to show you is a solid starting point. This is not where you will be as you get closer to your goal or as you dial in exactly what you need.
This is also the exact formula we use at Best Life Fitness to help our members find their calorie needs.
Before we get started you need to ask yourself what your goal is with your nutrition.
There are only 3 types of goals when it comes to our nutrition.
Weight loss-lose body fat
Weight maintenance-maintain muscle and fat
Weight gain-increase muscle or body fat
You will also need to know your current body weight.
When we know both our goal and body weight we are ready to get started.
If your goal is weight loss you will need to multiply your current weight by 10-12 calories.
If your goal is weight maintenance, you will need to multiply your weight by 14-16 calories.
And if your goal is weight gain you will need to multiply your weight by 18-20 calories.
This is how it will look.
Let’s say your goal is weight loss and you currently weigh 200 lbs.
Then you will take 200 x 10 =2000 and 200 x 12=2400.
Your calories will need to be between 2000 and 2400 trying to be closer to the higher end of the calories.
This may seem to be too simple. Keep in mind, at Best Life Fitness we do everything we can to keep this stuff easy.
